I finally was able to snap a picture of Talan's 2 new teeth. You can just barely see them.

No!!!!!

Talan found a pen somewhere on the floor Its time to babyproof. Its a little hard to see in this picture but he has pen above his eye on the right, his lip and cheek.

These are a few of my favorite things....

I'd like to let you all in on a little secret of mine because this is what I'm thinking about at the moment and I have nothing else to do but blog.

Just like I always knew I belonged on the east coast I have also always felt like I should have been a flower child in the 70's and have a bit of hippie in me.

My favorite place to shop is goodwill. I love things that people have thrown away. Up until 2 years ago I was the proud owner of a disco ball. When I was in high school I acquired a bright orange shag fur comforter that my mom had in the 70's. It was the most georgeous blanket I had ever seen and I am sad I dont have it anymore. I once wanted to put enough of those furballs with sticky feet and googly eyes to cover my entire dashboard. I actually searched for them, but sadly, my search was unsuccessful. Eversince I was about 13 my dream car has been either a 1971 vw bug convertible or a 1969 vw bus. I grew up in California where most everyone had one of these cars. I once saw someone with a vw bus that had grown about 3 inches of grass on the roof of the bus. That was the coolest thing I've seen even to this day. Now they are either really expensive because they are antiques or they are really cheap but rusted and junky. I'm a little embarrassed to say though that if I had piles of money sitting around, I'd have a hard time deciding which of those to buy first.

There you have it. My life in one paragraph. Yikes.

Toofers!

Talan has popped through 2 bottom teeth. I'm not sure how he feels about them. I can definitely feel confident in saying I am WAY more excited than he is. I've been saying he is teething since he was about 2 months old, so it's nice to actually see some teeth and show people that I really wasn't making it up. He doesn't really care to acknowledge them. I am constantly trying to stick my finger in his mouth to feel them. He, of course, cries every time. (i wouldn't want someone sticking their finger in my mouth either)

With the new teeth comes a new attitude as well. Talan has given up baby food. He screams when I try to feed him green beans but gobbles up my green beans that came from the same place. Even the fruit is no longer worthy of his newly pimped out mouth. He is just a big boy now. Speaking of big...I bought him some 18 month jeans the other day and wouldn't you know...they fit!!! OY!

Easter 2008

Prepare yourself for alot of pictures. This was probably the best Easter we've ever had. It would have been better if Brad could have been with us, of course.

Easter Sunday:

We went to the elipse first because I had heard that there were tons of things to do. So not true. It was so incredibly lame.
After about 5 minutes ashton was done with the elipse. He actually asked where Emma was.
This is how talan spent the day

Apparently Ashton is a big Jonas Brothers fan. Its like Hannah Montana for boys. I spent awhile carrying Ashton on my shoulder so he could see over the 16 year olds in the front on their parents shoulders. Seriously, if you're in the front then dont sit on shoulders. I can say though that I fought my way through the crowds.

Find Ashton!!!!Ashton shows us all the proper way to eat a hot dog on the streets of DC

My first DC campout!

I can now say I am the 893rd most crazy person in America. Most crazy person not actually mentally crazy that is, much unlike one particular woman in a fur coat.
I camped out. I've never camped out for anything and, frankly, I dont really camp. I'm not an outdoorsy girl. However, when the opportunity presented itself to camp in line for tickets to the easter egg roll on the white house lawn, that only a select number of people get to do was worth it. Plus I have amazing friends that are so much fun.
The night hit a little bump in the road when some woman joined us (person known as woman in a fur coat (see above)). I just have to ask....WHO WEARS A FUR COAT TO CAMP? She also had plans of crushing some skulls because why else would you carry a skull crushing hammer in your purse. How she ended up in one of the tents is beyond me and freaks me out! She did remove the fur coat though when a homeless man asked her if she was homeless too. She, however, did not remove the hammer.
As cold as it was, and as crazy as woman in the fur coat was, it was still alot of fun. I have amazing friends who I am going to be very sad to leave. And I can say with all honesty that even after the freezing tempratures, chapped face in the morning, no sleep, and almost having my head bashed in....it was totally worth it!
With that I leave you with one question. Was anyone elses nose cold? or was it just me.

Mini Babe Ruth

Ashton started T-ball yesterday. I dont think any of the kids on the team have any baseball experience, and it is so fun to watch. Its the classics: kid swings the bat and just keeps spinning, drawing in the dirt and throwing rocks to kill time when it was not his turn. (don't know how brad will feel about me putting this in here, but he said when he played t-ball and was in the outfield it was really boring. He would put his glove over his face and look through the holes and pretend he was watching the game on tv...like father like son I guess) I can't wait for the games. None of the kids know anything about baseball. There was a scrimmage game today and Ashton hit the ball and just stood there and watched as all the kids tried to figure out what to do. Its going to be a really fun season....

His coach said he was the first switch hitter he'd ever had on a first practice. Were not really sure if Ashton is a right handed or left handed baseball player. I dont think he's even sure. (this is why he has a left-handed set and a right handed golf clubs.)

I, being exhausted and all, forgot the camera to take pictures. :( I really think I should have stayed home. I made Chappie run over about 4 curbs while turning. No kidding!

Rebecca Day

When I was in high school this sweet but clingy friend of mine decided to make a day for each of her friends. Rebecca day is march 10th. Sweet but a little weird at the time. I usually remember some time in March that my day is either approaching or has passed. This year I have been talking about a food processor. I've been making alot of things from scratch and wanted a nice kitchenaid one. (pink of course). Then I realized that there is every accessory I would ever need that you can get for a Kitchenaid Mixer. I'd much rather have a drawer full of accessories than appliances sitting all over. I told Brad he could get me a pink kitchenaid mixer for my birthday (april) and he wasnt impressed. He doesnt like when I pick my own presents, which is what usually happens. So I told him he could get it for me for Rebecca Day and, (gasp!) he agreed! My views of Rebecca Day have now changed.
Meet my new baby! Ashton and I made cookies and they were the very first cookies I have EVER made that didnt come out of the oven flat as a pancake. They still wern't the greatest but I blame that on the recipe.

Turns out I do have something to blog about.

I havn't blogged in a few weeks because I didn't think I had anything to say. My life is fairly boring. Anyway, I was just moving pictures to the correct files and realized I do have things to blog about. Or at least pictures to share. I won't share them all at once just to keep everyone in suspense.

We've had some sporatic wonderful weather in march. Wonderful enough to take advantage of the park that is. (Ashton is wearing his batman pajama pants for dr. seuss' birthday at school.)

These next 3 pictures are in a sequence...

Picture #1: Brad places Talan on the chipmunk. All is good.

Picture #2: Talan realizes no one is holding on to him.

Picture #3: Talan doesn't like the chipmunk anymore.

There is a big field right next to the park and Brad was holding Talan chasing after Ashton. Talan thought it was hilarious.
Talan was laughing so hard when Brad was running with him. He likes the wind in his face.
