Likes:

• standing
• walking with help
• rice cakes
• bath time
• cheeseburgers with ketchup. the kid can pack away just about half a cheeseburger.
• watching brothers fight bad guys
• being thrown in the air

Dislikes:

• riding in the car more than 20 minutes. I count this as progress.
• wearing a bib
• having something taken away
• teething! none showing yet.

Talents:

• sleeping through the night 99.9% of the time. FINALLY! 6:30pm to 7:00am! 
• loading snacks into his mouth with more getting in his mouth than on the floor
• shaking his head no at something he doesnt want (see video in post below)

Syphr vs ravioli

Granted, Syphr was in a very foul mood this evening. His teeth are ripping their way through his gums, his 3 year old brother won't share any of his toys, and his dinner was 17 minutes late. Nothing happy about any of those things. That said, I thought by making his favorite baby ravioli he would once again become full of smiles. I was wrong.

Guess she wasn't feeling the ravioli today. 

The shaking his head no has been happening randomly for the last month, although never while the camera was rolling. The shaking his head no at a specific thing that he does not want has been happening only the last few days very consistently. I find it super cute!!

Likes:

• chicken nuggets
• corn dogs
• chocolate milk
• fighting bad guys
• wearing cowboy boots with shorts
• chicken hair which he sports so well most every day
• the incredibly tiring game of making things talk (by this I mean every toy he can get his hands on has to talk about what they are going to do today, or where they are going to go. I had to make a rule that only things with a mouth could talk to each other. He now requests we draw a mouth on anything that does not already have one.)
• hungry hungry hippos, uno moo, and sorry
• running
• ketchup! yesterday at dinner he dipped his spoon, which was full of yogurt, into his ketchup and ate it. He said it tasted great.
• pez...but you better have a pez dispenser to go with it!

Dislikes:

• having his hair washed
• being dirty
• syphr touching his things, especially when syphr slobbers on them
• not getting his way
• cousins who pretend to drink his chocolate milk
• not getting his way

Talents:

• writing his name
• keeping our home free from those pesky invisible bad guys
• getting dressed and putting shoes on by himself
• successfully navigating the netflix watch instant list
• being super cute and awesome! (that is a tough talent to master!)

WASHINGTON D.C. Day Six

This is in the DC Wax Museum.  This is George Washington.  This is a model of him with a background of the Revolutionary War.  

This is Benjamin Franklin (the guy who invented electricity)

This is my father and Abraham Lincoln.  I think it's at Ford's Theater where he got shot by a gun.  (Daddy note:  I thought about playing the role of John Wilkes Booth in this photo, but it just felt wrong.)

This is Chester A. Arthur, he was the 21st President and he had really long sideburns!  (Daddy note:  We're pretty sure that's who this is.  Neither of us could remember.  I honestly could not have named at least a third of the Presidents if they didn't have plaques on the wall.)

This is Teddy Roosevelt.  I don't know why he has a really long chain connected to his glasses but I think he looks better with it.

This is General Dwight D. Eisenhower.  I liked him because he was the only President from Kansas.

This is Martin Luther King Jr.   

This is a name of some important person, and it turned out to be a golfer. 

Here is the actual name. 

These are the first people that got on the moon, Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin.  

This is George W. Bush, the last President before Barack Obama.  (Daddy note:  Every president was in the museum but I cannot remember George H.W. Bush, wonder if he got the shaft.)

I thought this was really funny because President Clinton is standing with Abraham Lincoln who has sunglasses on.

This is Dwayne Johnson's belt, I though it was funny cause it had a longhorn on it for some reason and it was a big buckle.  (Daddy note:  There is also a good picture of me and 'The Rock' but Ashton just really wanted this picture.)

These are the Jonas Brothers.  They used to be my favorite band ever.

This is me with Tiger Woods.  For some reason there wasn't a ball but there was a golf club for taking pictures.

WASHINGTON D.C. Day Five

This is me sanding a pinewood derby car.  I could only sand it because my dad didn't have his tools with him. 

 This is me having fun with my dad. Even though it doesn't look like it, we were playing wii.

We also went to a movie called  'I Am Number Four.' There was a lot of kissing.  It was mostly action, and there's  a dog that turns into a monster.  All I can tell you is that.  (Daddy note:  There was one kiss in the movie, maybe two.)

WASHINGTON D.C. Day Four

This is at the National Botanical Gardens.  This is a giant coconut tree.

This is bamboo.  It is really really tall. 

This is a sign that tells people not to go to Hawaii even though the sign is in Washington DC.

This is a cacao tree.  The giant yellow things have pods that are used to make chocolate. 

This is a giant sunflower with white leaves.  (Daddy note:  Pretty sure it's sculpture.)

 This is a leaf that is shaped like a bird talon.  My brother's name is Talan so I thought that was funny.

This at the National Zoo.  That is a red panda on a tree.  It doesn't seem like there should be a panda on a tree.

Those are Asian elephants.  The one in the back has a really really long trunk.  But the one in the front doesn't look like he has one at all because it's behind a tree.

This is me touching elephant poop. 

This a lemur. He was in the small mammals house but I didn't think he was very small.

This is a gorilla that is standing on a tree branch.

This is a komodo  dragon.  There are holes in the side of his neck and I'm not sure what they are used for.

These are blue crabs.  The male's markings look like the Washington Monument and the female's look like the Capitol building.

This is a map of the zoo, but it doesn't have the dot on the map, it has it down below and it says you are here.   So it's like you're not even on the map!!!! 

This is a really really really big escalator and it took 2.5 minutes to ride up.  (Daddy note:  Ashton was narrating and I was typing.  I just want to note that he sounded like a valley girl when saying this one.  So make sure you hear it that way in your head.)

WASHINGTON D.C. Day Three

Daddy Blog

I told Ashton I would blog for Rebecca for him today, since he was unaware of some of the pictures I was taking.  Today took us to the Bureau of Engraving and Printing and the Air and Space Museum.

This is Ashton looking sad about having to go up a long escalator, I'll be sure to take a picture of the one by the zoo tomorrow which is easily twice as long.

The Buck Starts Here!!  We weren't allowed to take pictures of the printing process.  There was only one other person in our tour group, which was nice.  Our tour guide talked very slow and deliberate and enunciated her words strangely.  It was hard not to laugh, but she was very informative and knowledgeable.  It is always a great tour.

Ashton is $1,281,500 tall in $100 bills. 

Here are a few random pictures of things we thought looked neat in the Air and Space Museum. 

So far Ashton has bought four pens since he has been in DC.  This is his latest and probably the coolest, a robotic pen that opens with the touch of a button. 

 Ashton only weighs 64 lbs, but that's 160 lbs on Jupiter.

Ashton is learning 'How Things Fly', our favorite exhibit in the museum.  Sadly, half of it was under construction.

We don't really know how this thing works, but it has something to do with the sky and possibly stars.
